Overall Rating:

Early morning is here! Cold and stiff from a full day of riding from the day before, another day ahead of me, I want something warm and sweet to fill me up and give me the energy to get back on my bike.

Wise Company Apple Cinnamon Cereal sounded like just the thing. It was a hot breakfast that satisfied our sweet tooth but wasn’t exactly what it claimed to be. The instructions left us with more of a mush and less of cereal.

Preparation

After setting the water to boil, go ahead and pre-mix the dry ingredients by giving the closed and zippered bag a good shake. After the water is up to temperature, carefully pour it back into the package and stir. 12-15 minutes later, eat and enjoy! After some experimentation, we highly recommend adding as little as 1 ¼ cups of water for a much firmer breakfast cereal experience.

PROS:
  • Manufacturer recommendation that you may want to use less water.
  • About 20 minutes to fully prepare.

CONS:
  • No recommendation to pre-mix the dry ingredients.
  • No minimum amount of water recommended.

Taste

Taste

Reminiscent of oatmeal, we weren’t really sure what to think of Wise Company’s Apple Cinnamon Cereal. While the cinnamon and sugar of this meal was evident, the apple was not. This meal filled us up but had the consistency of a gruel or a mush, and definitely not that of a cereal, which left us a tad disappointed.

PROS:
  • Warm and filling.
  • Tasty balance of cinnamon and sugar.

CONS:
  • Mush like consistency.
  • Not really a cereal.
