Slim Jim – Hickory Smoked Bacon Jerky
After a morning of hiking around the Crooked River National Grassland’s, it’s time to stop for a snack and re-fuel.
It’s hard to argue with bacon, unless you’re a vegan/vegetarian, or a pig of course. Slim Jim’s Hickory Smoked Bacon Jerky was just what I needed for a day out in the high desert. The smoky flavor certainly complemented the smoke in the air from nearby fires.

This snack is perfect if you’re on the go. Just open the bag and enjoy the smokey bacon goodness.
The meaty and rich texture of this bacon jerky was a nice surprise from other bacon jerky’s I’ve had. There weren’t many too many fatty pieces which is common with bacon products.
The rich, smoky taste was a great addition. Not too strong, not too subtle. The only negative in this reviewer’s opinion is that the meat was a bit coarse for my taste. This only may be a preference for many, but it was a bit difficult to chew at some points.
- Rich smokey flavor.
- Not too fatty.
- It’s bacon!
- A bit course compared to other bacon jerky’s.
